The year is Universal Century 0223. The Earth Federation has collapsed, and the space colonies that were once under its control have been granted autonomy. These autonomous space colonies are now referred to as space "Settlements." In the power vacuum left by the Federation's fall, two opposing factions have emerged: the Congress of Settlement Nations (CONSENT), which is primarily composed of former Federation members and Sides 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7; and the Settlement Freedom League, consisting of Sides 1, 4, and the Lunar Cities.
The Earth Sphere is facing various social crises, including overpopulation and food shortages, which have led to significant instability. CONSENT, in particular, is struggling with a global food shortage, while the Settlement Freedom League, having the capability to produce enough food for itself, remains largely unaffected. When scientists from the neutral Side 8 Settlement of Gaea make a groundbreaking agricultural discovery, CONSENT decides to suppress this technology by force to maintain its control.
Opposing CONSENT's aggressive actions is the Illuminati, a secretive organization dedicated to preserving peace in the Earth Sphere. The stage is set for conflict as these factions vie for control over the new technology and the future of humanity in space.
