Model Number: Type-3F
The Gekka differs from the Guren Mk-II in several notable ways. It features gray armor instead of red, and its head unit has been replaced with a monoptic model. The Gekka lacks a Radiant Wave Surger, and the cannon in its left arm has been replaced with an optional, fully automatic rifle, capable of taking down both Knightmare Frames and faster targets like missiles and airborne ordnance carriers.
The Gekka’s primary weapon is the Katen Yaibatou, an elongated, heated chain-sword designed to cut through Knightmares with greater ease than conventional blades, though it is not as effective as the MVS (Maser Vibration Swords). Additionally, the Gekka is equipped with a Chaffsmoke dispenser, which can release both chaff and a smokescreen. This feature jams enemy electronic systems and disrupts visual tracking, making it useful for stealthy retreats or evasive maneuvers during combat.
Tohdoh's Gekka differs from the Guren Mk-II in several ways, while remaining similar to a standard Gekka but with enhanced power output. It features black armor instead of red, and its head unit has been replaced with a monoptic model. Unlike the Guren Mk-II, it lacks a radiation emitter, and the cannon in the left arm has been replaced by an optional, fully automatic rifle. This rifle is capable of taking down both Knightmare Frames and faster-moving targets like missiles and airborne ordnance carriers.
The primary weapon of Tohdoh's Gekka is the Seidoutou (Brake Sword), a variant of the Katen Yaibatou. This elongated, heated chain-sword is designed to shear through enemy Knightmares more easily than conventional blades. The sword's handle is fitted with a mounted Slash Harken at the pommel, while the blade itself is equipped with several thrusters that allow manipulation of the slash's direction or even the movement of the Knightmare itself.
Additionally, Tohdoh's Gekka is equipped with a Chaff Smoke dispenser, which releases both chaff and a smokescreen. This system jams electronic equipment and disrupts visual tracking, making it ideal for stealthy retreats or evasive maneuvers in combat.
Model Number: RPI-209
The Gloucester, an enhanced model with superior hand-to-hand combat capabilities, builds upon the standard Sutherland equipment but introduces a large jousting lance, reinforcing its medieval knight motif. This unit is sometimes draped in a cape, notably worn by Cornelia, her knight Guilford, and the Glaston Knights, though Andreas Darlton did not use one. The lance, called the "EM (Electromagnetic) Jousting Lance," features expanding prongs on four sides, allowing it to trap and disarm enemy weapons. When combined with the Gloucester's high mobility, the lance can be used to pierce enemy Knightmares directly through the cockpit, killing the pilot and preventing ejection.
In the Area 18 campaign, some Gloucesters were equipped with sand panels similar to the ones used by the Z-01 Lancelot during the Battle of Narita. Additionally, an optional Float Unit backpack can be fitted, transforming the machine into the RPI-209FA Gloucester Air (グロースター・エア).
The Glaston Knights' Gloucesters were also equipped with two "Sattel Waffen" five-barrel missile launchers attached to the cockpit sides. Guilford's Gloucester, meanwhile, featured a pair of MVSs (Maser Vibration Swords) stored in black scabbards on the sides of the cockpit.
