The Graterkin is Mekibos's personal machine built by the Zuvorg, modified using data from the Huckebein and Lion series machines, and equipped with a Tesla Drive for flight capability. Its armaments include a Mega Beam Buster handheld beam rifle, a High-Frequency Sword for melee combat, and a Photon Beam Cannon housed in its chest. On its right shoulder is the Blade Collector, which Mekibos can use to launch blades at opponents or perform the powerful wide-area attack Thunder Crash, though this requires time to charge. It also carries a shield and can absorb beam weaponry, like other Inspector machines.
Graterkin first appears during the takeover of the White Star alongside the other Inspectors. (If the player defeats the other Inspectors while saving Mekibos for last, they receive numerous powerful parts and weapons.) Later, the Graterkin is used in an attempt to hijack the Huckebein MK III but is driven back when Ryoto Hikawa sorties in the Huckebein MK III Gunner Frame and uses its Full Impact Cannon. During Operation Planagenet, Mekibos unleashes Thunder Crash to devastate the EFA and NDC forces. Mekibos and Graterkin are fought again on the way to the White Star. After being defeated, Mekibos acknowledges Irm and the EFA, allowing them to pass, to Wendolo's frustration.
Graterkin's last battle occurs at the White Star against the Dikastes. Mekibos sabotages the warp system and helps the EFA fight his brother Wendolo. However, just as he is about to finish Wendolo, Graterkin shuts down and is destroyed by a Mega Flasher. Before the White Star is engulfed by the Einst, Mekibos manages to escape and return home.
Graterkin is later repaired and upgraded into Graterkin II. While it loses its beam absorption ability, it is improved in various areas. Its weaponry includes Barrel Missiles, the retained High-Frequency Sword, a Driver Cannon, and a Large Barrel Beam Cannon replacing the Photon Beam. The Thunder Crash is upgraded into the Neo Thunder Crash, with reduced charge time, a slightly narrower range, and significantly increased damage.
Mekibos uses the Graterkin II to assist the Hiryu Kai against the Guest forces and Zezenan, and later to support the KouRyu Sentai against threats from the Ruina, remnants of the Gaia Saviors, Baral, and Euzeth Gozzo.
