Baan Gaan is a further and greater embodiment of courage, triggered by his "Fountain of Courage," Shunpei Serizawa's shout of "Brave Charge!" (ブレイブチャージ), followed by a signal beam emitted from his Baan Brace, which initializes the combination. However, when Shunpei was captured by Seltz Bach, leaving Baan on his own, the Holy Brave came to realize that he too possesses a heart of courage, enabling him to combine into Baan Gaan independently. The Holy Brave reaches his most powerful state when merging with his source of power, Shunpei's courage, by integrating the human boy with himself through a tractor beam emitted from the green forehead crystal.

In addition to his standard arsenal, Baan Gaan can combine with the V.A.R.S.-made support mechas to access various situation-specific forms. Finally, after Shunpei understood in his heart the importance of sticking to what one believes in, Baan Gaan gained the ability to transform into the powerful Baan Gaan Dragon.

Mach Sperion is a further and greater embodiment of hope, triggered by his "Fountain of Hope," Hiro Sakashita's shout of "Fire Charge!" (ファイヤーチャージ), followed by a signal beam emitted from his Mach Trigger, which initiates the combination. Similar to Baan Gaan, Mach Sperion can exert his full performance when combined with his source of power—in this case, Hiro—by fusing with the human boy. However, unlike Baan Gaan, who merges with Shunpei using a beam from his forehead, Mach Sperion's tractor beam for the merging is released from Sperion's chest before forming Mach Sperion.
